In 2017 Avant Gardner, located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, opened the Brooklyn Mirage – an open-air
entertainment venue designed to resemble a desert oasis fortress. Geiger provided engineering for the original scaffold
structure and performed subsequent annual inspections ahead of each new season’s events. In 2022 Avant Gardner
decided to renovate the Brooklyn Mirage venue with Geiger again as the structural engineer. Geiger reviewed the wood
structure supporting the new 28-foot-tall LED wrap around wall, designed a canopied steel structure creating more
mezzanine space for patrons, and worked closely with the contractor to design changes to the existing structure – all within
an extremely tight timeline.
