An 11,000 seat, multi-use arena designed to accommodate intercollegiate athletics, large audience concerts, conferences and entertainment events and to serve Illinois State University's students and intercollegiate athletic programs. The Redbird Arena's insulated and translucent roof was the first non-circular Cabledome in the world and the first cable-supported dome in the United States.
